Admissions Season Now Open

Current CVCA students DO NOT need to reapply for next year due to Continuous Re-enrollment.

CVCA families who will be adding a new student for the 2024-2025 school year are encouraged to apply HERE soon. Applications opened to the general public on October 1 and due to anticipated high enrollment, we encourage you to apply now to secure your place in the admissions process!

If you know someone who may be interested in CVCA, please invite them to our upcoming Open House on October 20 or Family Preview Nights on November 1 and 7. These are great opportunities to learn what CVCA is all about! Registration is open for these events at cvcaroyals.org/admissions.

Carpool Zip Code Lists Available

If your family lives in a zip code that does not provide busing to CVCA, you may wish to contact our Office of Enrollment. We would love to provide you with a zip code list that can be utilized to help form carpools or find transportation help.

Student Wednesday morning worship – October 4

Students are invited to worship with CVCA staff on select Wednesday mornings throughout the year. Our first Wednesday Morning Worship will be on October 4 at 7:50 a.m. in the Chapel.

YouScience & Schedule Change for October 12

Parents of ninth graders: your student will report at the regular start of school time on Thursday, October 12 for YouScience testing. (Students in grades 10 and 11 will complete PSAT testing during the same time.)

Through a series of scientifically engineered brain puzzles, YouScience testing  helps to provide CVCA educators and administrators a glimpse into each student’s unique design by God as social creatures, problem solvers, and learners. These insights allow our educators, counselors, and academic success staff to refine and individualize the ways we support each high school student’s learning and course scheduling. Ninth-grade students will complete these tests under the direction of specially designated teachers and be dismissed for an early pickup at 10:20 a.m. To avoid any disruption to ongoing PSAT testing, please pick up your ninth-grade student from the Learning Commons entrance (north side of school).

Mother and Daughter Coffee – November 2

All CVCA moms and daughters are invited to a special morning of coffee, pastries, a special speaker, and lots of fun. Save the date and watch for more details coming soon! Register HERE.

New! Shya Coffee Subscription Service

Shya Coffee Subscription Service is now available! Check out their website to make an order, and learn more about how you can support their mission to help the women in Rwanda. Pickup is only available at the CVCA Welcome Center in the middle of each month.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle School Nail Polish Club – October 6

Nail Polish Club is a stress-free time for middle school girls to hang out, talk, and paint nails after school. There is no cost to join and nail painting items are provided. We meet from 2:50 to 3:30 p.m. in Room 261 on the first and third Friday of each month.

HIGH SCHOOL

Swim and Dive Team Meeting – October 3

The Swim and Dive Team will have an Informational Meeting on Tuesday, October 3 in the SOBE Room during both lunch periods. All high school students interested in Swim & Dive this winter should plan to attend. Questions? Contact Coach Suplit at ksuplit@cvcaroyals.org.

ACT TEST PREP – OCTOBER 2, 4, 5

ACT test preparation is available at CVCA through our test prep partner, PATHworks! Students attend three sessions on October 2, 4, and 5, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Room 112. The cost is $325 for all three classes. Questions may be directed to the PATHworks! class instructor, Patricia Smoot-Wicks, at patricia@pathworksohio.com or 330-861-4973. Register HERE.

  • First Class: Full practice test and score with feedback
  • Second Class: GROUNDWork, English, and Math sections

College Financial Aid Meeting Moved to November 8

This year, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will open in December 2023. (In the past it opened on October 1.) Seniors can apply for financial aid from the colleges they are applying to by completing the Application at fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA must be completed by both the parent and student, and ideally as soon as it opens to maximize eligibility.

CVCA will host a College Financial Aid Informational Meeting on Wednesday, November 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons. (Previously scheduled for October 9.) We will hear from Pam Pustay, Director of Financial Aid at Malone University.

Winter Sports Registraion

Attention Parents of Winter Athletes. Now is a great time to make sure your child is registered for their sport in FinalForms. Sign in HERE and visit the “My Students” page to confirm. Make sure you have a current sports physical on file and that all pre-participation paperwork has been completed.
