Your first Royal Weekly of the 2026-2027 school year is here!

Published each Monday, this newsletter provides the latest CVCA news, event details, and announcements for parents and students alike. For your convenience, past issues of the Royal Weekly are available on the MY CVCA page of our school website.

As school is quickly approaching, there are plenty of important items to share, so please take a few minutes to read through today’s post.

Class Schedules available in Family Portal on August 10

  • New Families: Please bring a printed copy of your course schedule to New Student Orientation on August 12 to walk your schedule and explore the building.

  • Late Arrival / Early Dismissal: High schoolers with a first- or last-period study hall may request early dismissal or late arrival. A parent/guardian must complete THIS FORM for approval.

  • Schedule Adjustments: School counselors are available to assist with schedule adjustments during the first five days of class (excluding school retreat days). Schedule requests can be made however teacher or friend preferences cannot always be honored.

New Student & Parent Orientation

Join us on Wednesday, August 12! We can’t wait to welcome you to the CVCA community.

Students can pick up their Chromebooks, walk their schedules (bring a printed copy), and set up lockers. You’ll also have time to meet other families, connect with Athletics, purchase apparel, and ask any questions before the school year begins.

Student/Parent Handbook
August 13 Deadline

  • Deadline to Read and Sign: Thursday, August 13
  • Who Needs to Sign: All students and at least one parent/guardian.
  • Where to Sign: Access the handbook and virtual signature form via ParentSquare and StudentSquare.

  • Student Schedules: Will automatically sync with parent and student accounts on Monday, August 10.
  • Extracurriculars & Athletics: All CVCA-sponsored clubs, teams, and activities are moving to these platforms for the 2026–2027 school year.

NEW Attendance Policy Updates and New Reporting Tool

Please review the updated Attendance Policies and forms HERE. Starting this year, families must notify the school of all absences through Orah (this replaces School Messenger). Phone calls and emails to the Main Office regarding attendance will be redirected to the Orah platform. How to set up Orah:

  • Download the Orah App HERE.
  • Log in or create an account using the parent email associated with your FACTS account. (Student schedules will sync within the next week).

NEW Phone-Free Campus Policy for 2026–2027

To support our students’ academic and spiritual growth, CVCA is moving to a phone-free campus during the school day this fall.

  • The Policy: Cell phones, smartwatches, and AirPods must be turned off and secured from 7:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
  • How It Works: Students will use an assigned, lockable Yondr bag to store devices during the day, unlocking them at dismissal.
  • Staying Connected: For urgent needs, call the Main Office at 330-929-0575. For non-urgent messages, use email or ParentSquare.

Transportation and Traffic Updates

Copley Bus
Canceled

There is no Copley bus service to CVCA this year. Families can still register for the CVCA/Walsh bus. Walsh Bus details are HERE. Register HERE.

Log in to Family Portal. (Reset your password if needed. Multi-factor authentication is now required.)

  1. Select “School” > “Directory” in the left menu and search by name or grade.
  2. Need to search by specific city or zip code? Email admissions@cvcaroyals.org with your requested locations.

New Campus
Traffic Patterns

Due to construction on campus and Wyoga Lake Road, new traffic patterns are in place to minimize delays. Please review the new traffic updates and maps HERE on the Royals Roadside page. This page will be updated as needed throughout the school year.

Ignition and JumpStart Meetings

All 6th and 7th graders and their parents should attend their class retreat meeting on Wednesday, August 12 from  5:45 to 6:15 p.m. (There will be no meeting for 8th grade.)

  • 6th Grade Ignition – Middle School Cafeteria
  • 7th Grade JumpStart – Gymnasium

Retreat Week

All of our students will celebrate the return to school with class retreats. These are great times to connect as a student body, have some fun, and welcome new students. More information to come. The dates are as follows:

  • Grade 6 – Ignition – August 17-18
  • Grade 7 – JumpStart – August 18-20
  • Grade 8 – Launch Point – August 20-21
  • All High School – Fall Fest – August 21
  • Grade 12 – Senior Retreat – August 23-24
