SCHOOL-WIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Student/Parent Handbook

Student and parent signatures were due on the first day of school. If you have not yet read the Student/Parent Handbook and signed the agreement, please do so today. Students will not be able to attend classes or retreats if both the student and the parent have not signed the 2025-2026 Student/Parent Handbook. Students received an email to their CVCA email accounts with a link to submit. Parents can find the handbook through FACTS.

First Week Schedule

The first week of school will consist of five 8-period days. We will have a late start on Wednesday, August 13 (followed by periods 1-8). There will be no Chapel or House meetings on Thursday. Block periods for Wednesday/Thursday and House/Chapel gatherings will start the second week of school.

Class Schedules

Class schedules are available through  Family Portal.

  • High school students with a study hall during the first or last period of a day can request late arrival or early dismissal. A parent or guardian must fill out this form for approval.
  • School counselors are available to help students seeking adjustments to their daily class schedule. CVCA policy allows students to request schedule changes during the first five days of class (not counting days spent at school retreats). Though counselors cannot adjust schedules simply to place students with friends or to secure a teacher preference, our school counselors do their best to accommodate thoughtful requests from students to arrange a schedule change.

Bus Transportation and Traffic

  • This year we are partnering with Walsh Jesuit to provide busing for CVCA students. The bus will start on Monday, August 11 for those who have already registered. The deadline to register has been extended for CVCA families. All of the details are available HERE. Please REGISTER HERE.
  • In our ongoing communication with the city of Cuyahoga Falls, we are pleased to announce that the Seasons road construction is well underway and is set to be completed soon.

Traffic flow reminders

As we prepare for the start of school, there are several things to keep in mind as you navigate student drop-off and pick-up times and locations.

  • Be patient as we all work to manage traffic flow. It will improve over the next couple of weeks as everyone falls into a routine.
  • Due to the heavy traffic at the Middle School Entrance, middle school students may also utilize the high school drop off location and enter through the Athletics side entrance.
  • Keep in mind the following drop-off and pick-up instructions, and note that the Rasnick Center is not a drop-off or pick up location:

Before School:
  • Students may arrive at school as early as 7:15 a.m. ALL students arriving between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. should use the Royals Fieldhouse entrance. No other doors will be open before 7:30 a.m.
  • If at all possible, students should arrive between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. and proceed directly to their first class of the day. All entrances are open to students at 7:30 a.m.
  • Students should be dropped off at the following doors between 7:30 a.m. and 7:50 a.m.: Learning Commons, New Entrance, or Middle School Entrance.
  • Students who have parked their cars may enter at the Rasnick Center, but cars may not drop students off there.
  • Please do not drop off students at the main entrance after 7:25 a.m. as this space is reserved for school buses.
After School:
  • The same doors used for drop off may be used for pick up.
  • For the safety of all students, it is critical that families pick up students as close to the 2:50 p.m. dismissal time as possible. If a student does not have an extracurricular practice, meeting, or rehearsal, they need to leave campus.
  • In order for thorough cleaning to occur each afternoon, the building needs to be clear of students by 3:05 p.m.
  • Between 2:50 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. students should transition to their after-school practice or leave campus immediately at 2:50 p.m.
  • General supervision will not be provided after 2:50 p.m. Students involved in athletics, fine arts, and other after-school activities are under the supervision of coaches, advisors, etc.

FALLFEST – August 15

House Gear Swap

This year, our House System will look a little different. Each class will be a different House, and those students will stay in that House throughout their high school career. Look below to find out which House you will be in and to learn about the upcoming House Gear Swap…

  • Freshmen (Class of 2029) – Douglass House
  • Sophomores (Class of 2028) – Tozer House
  • Juniors (Class of 2027) – Lewis House
  • Seniors (Class of 2026) – Elliot House

We realize this change means many of you will be in a new House, and to help with the transition, we are planning a House gear swap the first week of school so you can support your House. So, bring in any of your old House gear that is laundered (and in good condition), and you will receive tickets to be used for trade-ins. On Friday of our first week, you will be able to go shopping in your new House’s store and spend your tickets on new items. T-shirts, water bottles, and smaller items will be worth one ticket, and sweatshirts or ¼-zips will be worth two tickets. If your older siblings had House swag, be sure to bring that as well.

Please bring your old (but clean) items into the Student Ministries Office Monday, August 11, through Thursday, August 14, and you will receive tickets for them. On Friday, August 15, bring your tickets back and you can spend them on ‘new’ items.

Homecoming Dance – September 13

This year’s Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, September 13, 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in CVCA’s Gym and Rasnick Center. All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to attend. Ticket details coming soon!

This is an excellent opportunity to collect information and get answers to questions on majors, financial aid, college life, and other areas of interest. The fair is open to the public, and there are no fees or obligations.

STAY INFORMED. GET INVOLVED. SUPPORT THE MISSION.

How to Get Involved

Volunteers are a vital part of the CVCA community. There are some great ways you can get involved while getting to know faculty, staff, and other parents. We have opportunities for both men and women in many different areas and varying time commitments. To be added to our volunteer list, simply complete this Volunteer Form today, then watch this section of the Royal Weekly for exciting volunteer opportunities!

Students and parents are invited to The Royal Theatre’s Season Kick-off Meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 3:30 to 4:30 in the Chapel. We will present our 2025-2026 Season shows for the: High School Fall Play, Middle School Fall Play, Jterm Show, and Spring Musical.  We will also introduce some of The Royal Theatre staff, talk through how to audition for a cast or apply for a crew, pass out fall show paperwork, and answer questions.

Academic Challenge Open Practices – August 22, August 29, September 5

Do you like trivia games? If so, then check out Academic Challenge! This extracurricular is a great fit for students who enjoy knowing and learning “fun facts” about various subjects. (Plus, it looks great on a college application.)

It’s also a pretty flexible activity. Most Academic Challenge students are involved in other activities, so if you are too, that’s fine; Academic Challenge can still work with most people’s schedules. To learn more about this year’s Academic Challenge opportunities, come to one or more of our three Friday lunchtime open practices (August 22, August 29, September 5) in Mrs. Riordan’s room (133).
