CVCA Royal Technic Robotics Team qualifies for Denver Regional Championship

Supply chain issues in the U.S. and around the world (brought on by the aftereffects of COVID-19) have created challenges for businesses and a need for creative thinking and problem-solving. BEST Robotics challenged students to take on this challenge and problem-solve in the Made2Order-themed competition.

The CVCA Royal Technic robotics team stepped up to the challenge and competed in the Grove City college hub competition. The students designed and built a robot that could install parts onto a warehousing robot lovingly named Squeaky. The marketing team presented a plan selling the robot as if it were a full-size piece of equipment. The team also created an exhibit displaying the engineering design process of the robot, the team’s sponsors, outreach projects, and the timeline of warehousing. All information was documented in an engineering notebook. The team also created a video showing the design process and CAD models and answered questions posed by the leaders of BEST Robotics in a Critical Design Review.

After two days of intense competition, CVCA finished second place in the driving competition, first place in Critical Design Review, First Place in the overall competition, and received the BEST Award. The team will travel to Denver in December to compete in the regional championships. Congratulations, team!
