FALL BREAK IS THIS WEEK - ENJOY SOME MUCH NEEDED TIME OFF

NO SCHOOL for Middle School Only – October 12

Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will NOT have school on Wednesday, October 12 to better facilitate PSAT testing for the rest of the school.

PSAT TESTING for 9th, 10th & 11th grade – October 12

On Wednesday, October 12, all CVCA 9th, 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT test. There will be no late start. Early dismissal is at 11:55 a.m.

CLASS MEETING for Seniors only – October 12

Seniors will have a mandatory class meeting on Wednesday, October 12. (Details in Senior email.)

New student applications for the 2023-24 school year are now open!

With record high enrollment, make sure to apply EARLY for siblings. Go to cvcaroyals.org/apply  Use your existing account by clicking on “Begin Application,” then “Application” from the top bar. Enter your existing username and password, and then click on “Create a New Student Application” to get started.

College Financial Aid Meeting – Tonight!

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened October 1. Seniors can apply for financial aid from the colleges they are applying to by completing the Application at fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA must be completed by both the parent and student, and ideally during the month of October to maximize eligibility. To help in this process, CVCA will host a College Financial Aid Informational Meeting on Monday, October 10, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons. We will hear from Pam Pustay, Director of Financial Aid at Malone University.

School Calendar

Don’t forget to occasionally check the CVCA website for new calendar items and a new printable calendar pdf of the entire year. Both are available through the MY CVCA page. An updated calendar pdf was just added with new dates for end-of-the-year activities.

  • Lunch with Cedarville University Rep –November 1, Lunch 5A – Room 109 – The Rep will present general information about Cedarville as well as the admissions process and college search tips. To register, email Mrs. Knapp at eknapp@cvcaroyals.org. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend, but the program is open to anyone in grades 9-12. 

ACT Test Prep Class at CVCA – October 10, 11, 13

Be ready for the upcoming ACT Tests on October 22 and December 10! ACT test preparation is available in October through our test prep partner, PATHworks! The program is $225 and includes three sessions: October 10, 11, 13, 3:15-6:00 p.m. in Room 112.

  • First Class: Full practice test and score with feedback
  • Second Class: GROUNDWork, English and Math sections
  • Third Class: Action Planning, Reading and Science sections

College Application Help

College applications are due November 1! Any seniors needing help filling out college applications are invited to the back table in the Learning Commons during your PRT to receive help from Mrs. Fridline on the following Fridays: October 21 and October 28.

Senior Yearbook Baby Ads

It’s time to order Yearbook baby ads for your seniors! The cost begins at $45 per block until November 4. Submissions will be accepted until Monday November 14, but the cost will be raised to $55 per block. Order forms are available HERE.

Embrace and Diakonos club meetings

Two CVCA clubs, Embrace and Diakonos, are moving to a joint meeting time during 3a and 3b Lunch each Wednesday in Room 105. Students interested in multicultural belonging and/or service to others are encouraged to come and be a part of our community.

Join us for Art Club

Students of all grades are welcome to enjoy some creative time with CVCA’s Art Club. The group meets on Tuesdays, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Room 136. No registration is necessary, and all materials are provided. If you have questions, see Miss Foti or Mrs. McSparran.

Urban Agriculture Club Meetings

The Urban Agriculture Club meetings have changed. We will meet October 11 & 25 and November 8 & 22 in Room 137 during both lunches.

ATHleTICS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Girls Lacrosse Meeting – October 11

The CVCA girls lacrosse team will hold information meetings on Tuesday, October 11 during the lunch periods. Come to Room 109 to meet the coaches and get important information about the 2023 season. Pizza and salad will be provided.

Football Playoffs Tshirts

The football team has secured a spot in the 2022 OHSAA Division III playoffs! Congratulations Royals! Shirts commemorating this honor are on sale HERE through Thursday, October 13. Long-sleeve shirts are $25, short-sleeve are $20. (Football Parents: You do NOT need to order a short-sleeved shirt for your student.)

Dine to Donate for CVCA Football – October 22

The CVCA football program has partnered with the Stow Texas Roadhouse for a Dine to Donate event on Saturday, October 22. Present the flyer below (hard copy or digital) between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Texas Roadhouse will 10% of your total food purchases to the CVCA football program. Mark you calendars and plan to support the Royals will a delicious meal on the October 22.

Football Game Themes

The CVCA Cheer program has announced the football themes for the 2022 season. Royals fans, especially students, are encouraged to participate in each theme night throughout the season. Join the CVCA cheerleaders in making football nights fun for all.

Winter Sports Registration

If you are interested in winter sports, make sure you are registered in FinalForms. The season is fast approaching and coaches will use their FinalForms roster for communication. Visit cvca-oh.finalforms.com and check your sports under the “My Students” tab.
