SCHOOL-WIDE

Father-Son Breakfast – April 11

All CVCA fathers and sons are invited for a time to connect, enjoy breakfast together, and be encouraged. Don’t miss our last Father-Son Breakfast of the year on Thursday, April 11 at 7:30-9:00 a.m. Doors open at 7:15 a.m. We will hear from CVCA alum, Dr. Jason Kolb. Register HERE by April 9.

9th & 10th Grade TESTING – April 16

On Tuesday, April 16, CVCA 9th and 10th graders will take part in IOWA standardized testing, an alternative to the Ohio state tests for meeting Ohio graduation requirements. On this day, your 9th or 10th grade student will report to school by the regular school start time (7:50 a.m.) prepared with a few #2 pencils and the student’s personal calculator, to take either the Algebra 1 test or the sophomore Reading test. Students will find their assigned testing location posted around the building on Monday, April 15.

It is vital that your student attends this testing session (barring significant illness or other complication that morning) as the Ohio Educational Choice (EdChoice) scholarship renewal requires completion of the IOWA test this spring to award scholarship monies to families next year. In addition, students must achieve a “cut” score set by the Ohio Department of Education on these tests to graduate in Ohio.

11th and 12th graders, as well as middle schoolers, will report to school at a delayed start time of 8:55 a.m. to attend their regular 1st through 8th-period classes on an adjusted schedule. Any non-testing students who must arrive early (during the testing window) should enter through the Rasnick Center doors and wait in the Rasnick Center until they’re released by Mr. Schofield to their lockers shortly before the start of school.

Contact the Academic Office if you need any additional information concerning timing or other details related to IOWA testing on Tuesday, April 16.

Some select juniors and seniors will need to report to school during the late start window on Wednesday, April 17, to complete additional unfinished graduation testing requirements. If this makeup testing requirement applies to your child, you will receive a communication to this effect prior to Friday, April 12.
