- Fall Break is October 9-13.
- Check Canvas and Planners daily.
- When looking at your student’s Canvas gradebook, you will notice that late assignments are labeled with a BLUE LATE.
- If the assignment is marked with a RED MISSING indication, this means the teacher has NOT received it, whether on Canvas or on paper.
- Teachers try to make sure that every assignment is accurately labeled by the end of the day.
- Way to show school spirit during Spirit Week! Continue to give your best efforts in your classes!
- Thank you to all the parents and students who attended Ignition Rewind, and to our speakers.

- Chapter 2: We will focus on integers, absolute value, and rational numbers.
- Math Workshop: We’ve started our math workshop stations on BLOCK days, and students are off to a strong start!
- REMINDERS:
- All work must be shown on grid paper to receive full credit.
- Students need a highlighter and EXPO marker every day
- Please continue practicing math facts at home to build fluency.
- Students began the year considering the nature of science. Every student researched the life of a scientist and created a poster. Each class is working on its own experiment, applying the steps of the scientific method.
- Students are now in the middle of an extended unit on matter. This is the foundation for their ensuing years as scientists at CVCA and beyond.
- Students are also working on their measurement skills and learning to use the density=mass/volume equation.
- We will continue to read Holes through September and into October.
- Membean as homework has come to an end for the time being, for we will now begin learning how to type. Membean will pick back up later in the year.
- Our grammar practice will focus on writing in complete sentences and learning proper capitalization.
- Check out our States and Capitals quiz calendar on Canvas for weekly quizzes on Fridays.
- Next test for Barbieri’s classes: Torah Test on Monday, October 6 (give or take a day). Study Guides will be distributed on the block day the week before
- Iannetta’s weekly Bible Verses and Books of the Bible Quiz every Wednesday. Verses can be found on Canvas for the whole Quarter.
- Iannetta’s Chapel Reflections are due every Friday by the end of the school day.
- SIMS – LATIN:
- Students should be working on their Roman Timeline due on October 3.
- Please keep up with any vocabulary discussed in class. All resources are found in the Module named Classroom Resources on Canvas.
- Remember, if an assignment is late, a point will be deducted from your overall grade.
- BARTEL – LATIN:
- We have been having so much fun learning Latin with stories! Invite your student to tell one of their favorite stories to you in Latin, or have them read in English one of the stories written in Latin! I am impressed! I hope you are, too!
