Ministry Overview:
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non-profit ministry dedicated to Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ. We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically integrated, college-preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We are committed to providing our students with experiences that will foster in them a servant’s heart, including extra-curricular activities, inter-scholastic athletics, music, theater, short-term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities. Job Summary:
The Development Officer serves as a key architect of CVCA’s fundraising efforts, managing a diverse portfolio of donors across various levels of giving. This role focuses on the end-to-end donor lifecycle – from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship – ensuring that all constituent records are accurate and that every donor, regardless of gift size, feels connected to the CVCA mission of Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and qualify a diverse range of prospects, including mid-level, major gift, and recurring donors.
- Build and execute personalized engagement strategies to inspire donors at various giving potentials.
- Develop and implement initiatives, including direct appeals, planned giving, and special campaigns.
- Manage ongoing relationships with donors, providing regular, meaningful updates on CVCA ministry impact through personalized communication.
- Supervise the maintenance of records of donor interactions, gift processing, and contact updates within Raiser’s Edge software.
- Develop and implement a communication plan of activities that support relationships between CVCA and its external constituents (i.e. Board, alumni, alumni parents, parents, donors, and friends of CVCA).
- Serve as a resource for the Development Team, sharing best practices in donor etiquette, solicitation strategy, and professional networking.
- Cultivate “life-long giving.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years in non-profit development and fundraising
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Balance of off-campus and on-campus responsibilities
- Frequent appointments with donors (which involve more driving than the average CVCA employee)
