WEBSITE HIGHLIGHTS
Canvas or Family Portal?
Do you know the difference between Canvas and Family Portal? Both are easily accessed through the MY CVCA page and serve as valuable tools for CVCA families.
- Canvas (LMS – Learning Management System) is the hub for academics. Students use it to submit assignments, track due dates, and engage with course materials.
- Family Portal (FACTS) is designed for school-related business. Parents use it for payments such as field trips and activities. It also provides access to student transcripts, progress reports, and report cards – the only academic crossover with Canvas.

To take advantage of this opportunity, students MUST apply to Malone and be accepted. (Please refer to the instructions HERE.) To be eligible, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. If a student’s GPA is below 3.0, they must submit an ACT or SAT score for consideration. Students who have previously applied and been accepted into the Malone program do NOT need to reapply. However, they DO need to reapply for State Funding each year for the college credits (this is optional).
Once accepted to Malone, students can apply to the State of Ohio for funding for college credits (except for Bible classes). (Refer to the instructions HERE.) Applying for State Funding is optional. If a student chooses not to apply for State Funding, they will be responsible for paying for the college credits at a discounted rate.
Key Deadlines:
- The deadline to apply to Malone in order to also apply for State Funding is March 13. If a student misses the State Funding deadline or decides not to apply, the Malone application deadline will be June 5.
- The deadline to apply for State Funding is April 1. Students cannot apply for State Funding until they have been accepted by Malone.

Royal Evening Opportunities
The Royal Evening is just around the corner, and CVCA needs your support. This annual event is one of our favorite nights of the year, where CVCA families, students, alumni, and friends come together to celebrate God’s faithfulness. As our largest fundraiser, The Royal Evening typically raises over $300,000 each year for student tuition assistance. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026. For a glimpse of the 2025 Royal Evening, watch HERE. There are many ways to get involved in this exciting event:
- Class Baskets: We invite you to be part of the auction excitement by donating an item to your class basket – a very easy way to support The Royal Evening. Historically, each CVCA class works together to donate items for the Royal Evening silent auction. To join the fun, check out the Class Baskets List and get creative!
- Volunteer: This event relies on the hard work of many volunteers. Helping with the Royal Evening is a great opportunity to use your talents for CVCA, connect with other families, and have fun! There are many ways to get involved, and you can sign up HERE. (We are currently looking for a volunteer cashier for the night of the Royal Evening. If you are interested, please sign up!)
- Silent Auction Items: One highlight of the event is the Silent Auction, and we would love help securing auction items. To help us ask for item donations, check out these helpful hints. (The Development Office is happy to provide a letter about the event for you to provide potential donors.) Please sign up HERE to let us know you would like to help in this way.
Don’t Forget to Take your Tax credit through sgo! A scholarship gift that costs you nothing
Did you know that you can direct a portion of your Ohio tax liability to benefit CVCA students? Your gift provides scholarships and reduces the amount you owe the state. A gift that costs you nothing but means everything. Learn more HERE. Questions? Contact jharabedian@cvcaroyals.org.
Help Build Our Best Royal Evening Auction Yet!
We are looking for volunteers to help secure silent auction donations for our upcoming Royal Evening on Saturday, April 18, 2026. It’s a simple but vital way to support our school, and we can’t do it without you!
How you can help:
- Sign Up for a slot HERE (one slot = visiting 5-10 local businesses)
- Grab a Packet: Pick up a donation packet at the Front Office or have your student bring one home.
- Visit Local Favorites: We’re asking volunteers to commit to visiting 5-10 local businesses in their neck of the woods to solicit auction items. Examples include your favorite neighborhood coffee shop, boutique, gym, or restaurant.
- The Buddy System: Everything is more fun with a friend! Feel free to sign up as a duo or a small group to tackle your list together.
- Check out these Tips from a Veteran Volunteer!
Items for auction are due by March 1, 2026. We are so grateful for your help in bringing this event to life. Let’s work together to make this year’s auction our best one yet!
