When we return from Jterm, we will begin Chapter 5: Ratios and Rates, a unit that builds a strong foundation for proportional reasoning!

SCIENCE

Mrs. Tammy Smith: tsmith@cvcaroyals.org

Things have been looking up in science class as we have been learning about our atmosphere: its layers, temperature, pressure, and density. In January, we will return to Earth and learn about landforms and topographical maps.

ENGLISH

Traci Willison: twillison@cvcaroyals.org

Jennifer Davies: jdavies@cvcaroyals.org

WORLD LANGUAGE

Mrs. Elizabeth Sims: esims@cvcaroyals.org

Mrs. Heather Bartel: hbartel@cvcaroyals.org

We are finishing up our second quarter with ASL. The students have learned so much: Introductions, the alphabet, numbers, colors, and likes/dislikes. We also learned about Koko the gorilla, who knew sign language, and watched a movie about Helen Keller. In December, we will take a small field trip to the senior hallway and meet Mrs. Scott, the ASL 2 teacher. We will do a combined lesson with ASL 2 students and sixth graders. In January,  we will begin learning Spanish!
