Ministry Overview:

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non-profit ministry dedicated to Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ. We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically integrated, college-preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We are committed to providing our students with experiences that will foster in them a servant’s heart, including extra-curricular activities, inter-scholastic athletics, music, theater, short-term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities. Job Summary:

This position serves as part of the clinic team that provides health and medical services during the school day to CVCA students and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate behavior aligned with CVCA’s mission statement, statement of faith, core values, policies and expectations
  • Conduct screenings and write referrals for health care services
  • Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
  • Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
  • Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
  • Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
  • Keep track of student vaccination records
  • Update students’ medical history
  • Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
  • Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists
  • Ensure compliance with national and local health laws

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Nursing and a valid national certification
  • Current and valid license from the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of three years in nursing/medical experience
