Developing Artistic Excellence for the Glory of God and the Benefit of Others
The Royal Theatre
CVCA’s Royal Theatre is committed to “developing artistic excellence for the glory of God and the benefit of others.” The theatre program offers students an opportunity for hands-on involvement in every aspect of the theatrical arts. Using multiple full-length productions every school year as the platform for learning, students of all ages are instructed in acting, sound and lighting design, set construction, costuming, and more!
Each year, The Royal Theatre produces a middle school play and a high school play in the fall, provides a week-long theatre intensive Jterm course, and puts on an all-school musical in the spring. Productions have included such popular shows as Hello, Dolly!, The Little Mermaid, Newsies, Singin’ in the Rain, Beauty and the Beast, Our Town, Fiddler on the Roof, Much Ado About Nothing, and many more. Students in all grades have the opportunity to be involved all year, including during the summer when The Royal Theatre produces a summer camp for students in second through eighth grade with high school students serving as counselors.
