The more we love Christ, the more our lives look like His life. This is the embodiment of the Gospel. As believers, we should be concerned about those things that Jesus is concerned about. Whether it’s across the street or across the world, the follower of Jesus is called to give of his time, talent and treasure to those in need. At CVCA we believe that mission trips provide an opportunity to live out our faith outside of the classroom and to love our neighbors as ourselves. CVCA offers three mission trips so that our students might participate in the joy of serving their Maker by serving others.
“Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” – Matthew 25:40 ESV
The summer before their senior year, CVCA students have the opportunity to work with ‘Meeting God in Missions’ in the Dominican Republic. These life-changing days are full of hard work, love and worship. Students meet regularly in the months leading up to the trip for worship, building opportunities and fundraising.
Pittsburgh Project Trip
During the summer following their freshman year, students have the opportunity to help needy and elderly Pittsburgh homeowners serving through The Pittsburgh Project.
This week long mission trip provides students with many opportunities to work hard work for others, to worship God and to build strong bonds with fellow classmates and the homeowners they serve.
Urban Hope Training Center
Students and leaders will be serving with the Urban Hope Training Center. The center began in 1998 as a ministry of CE National and is located in Northern Philadelphia. The ministry is a cross-cultural urban training center with a mission, “to reach the urban family through children and youth and train believers in cross-cultural ministry.” Through UHTC many young people come to faith in the Lord Jesus, some of whom are now a regular part of the ministry! Urban Hope is about people who are on a mission for Christ. Their desire is share the gospel and reaching out to the community. As Urban Hope serves the youth and families in the neighborhood, they desire to reach, teach, equip, and develop though the ongoing ministry of the center, as well as, through the church that they have planted.
