Ministry Overview:

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non-profit ministry dedicated to Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ. We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically integrated, college-preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We are committed to providing our students with experiences that will foster in them a servant’s heart, including extra-curricular activities, inter-scholastic athletics, music, theater, short-term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities. Job Summary:

This position plans, organizes, directs, supervises, and evaluates the acquisition and application of technology in support of the school’s activities by coordinating the development and implementation of the school’s technology master plan; providing technical guidance in software, educational technology and use of systems; and assisting in the development of the school’s technology budget. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual and multi-year technology budgets to support a vibrant, forward-moving technology program
  • Troubleshoot technology problems for faculty, staff, and students
  • Support a building-wide wired/wireless network capable of supporting thousands of devices
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all technology users
  • Establish and implement backup, disaster recovery, virus protection, and security measures to protect hardware, software, and data
  • Identify failing systems and recommend solutions based on technical merits and budget restraints
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations in regard to technology and licensing
  • Direct development and delivery of software solutions to meet customer needs
  • Provide strategic direction for technical assessment, definition, prioritization, architecture, design, and deployment of new products and services.
  • Identify and investigate advanced technologies offering the school significant technical and financial benefits, and provide strong thought leadership on emerging technologies
  • Provide training and access to resources to increase the knowledge and ability of all users
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in programming, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
  • Five years of experience in a school IT environment
  • Three years of progressively greater experience in information technology
  • Familiar with Cisco networking equipment, Windows Active Directory framework, Google Administrative Console FACTS SIS (RenWeb), CCTV camera system, and Door Access and Control system

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Work is typically performed in a conventional office environment
