Pittsburgh Project Meeting – October 8

All freshmen are invited to be part of the Pittsburgh Project Trip June 9-15, 2019! An informational meeting will be held on Monday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons. Applications and deposits ($100) are due by October 31 to the SMO. Royal Evening Volunteer Meeting – October 8

Please join us as we continue to plan for this year’s Royal Evening gala. We will meet in the Student Lounge on Monday, October 8 at 8:00 a.m. There are plenty of opportunities to help with administration, donation and sponsor solicitation, decorations, etc. Breakfast will be provided. If you cannot attend and would still like to be involved, please contact Kristin Nichols at [email protected]. The Royal Evening is a CVCA community-wide celebration of God’s faithfulness to the Academy and an opportunity to raise money for student financial assistance.

Help us tell others about CVCA!

We’d love your help! Please tell your story to others considering Christian Education. We know God is doing great things here every day and need your help telling others to come experience it for themselves. We have three admissions events coming this fall, the first is only 8 days from today! More information is available HERE.

• Prospective Parent Night – October 9, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
• Community Open House – October 26, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
• Prospective Student Day – November 8, 9:00 a.m.

Seniors and Senior Parents…

This is an exciting and very busy year for our seniors and their families. While working hard on your studies, visiting colleges, and filling out applications, there are also many deadlines and forms that need to be taken care of for CVCA. All of that information can be found HERE on the senior page of our website. Check it out for details about commencement, diplomas, senior pictures, class pictures, yearbook ads, a very helpful Senior Checklist and more.

Early Release on October 10

Wednesday, October 10, 2018 will be an early release day for the purpose of administering the PSAT to all students in grades 8, 9, 10, and 11. Students in grades 6 and 7 will follow an abbreviated class schedule, and the senior class will have an off-campus meeting. Seniors will be released at the conclusion of their meeting, while all students on campus (grades 6-11) will be released at 12:30 p.m. Please note that the Cafeteria will not serve lunch on October 10 due to the early dismissal, so students needing to stay at school after 12:30 p.m. should plan to pack a lunch.

Canvas Learning Management System

Renweb Gradebook Auto-Notifications to end October 10, 2018
As we continue to fully transition our Learning Management System for all CVCA classes to Canvas, all parents are encouraged to connect to their child(ren)’s Canvas accounts as observers. Information on how to complete that process was emailed to all parents earlier this quarter and can also be found HERE. Because Canvas also provides auto-notifications, RenWeb auto-notifications for missing work will be discontinued at the end of the first quarter on October 10.

Ski Club Registration Begins Today

Join us for Ski Club at Brandywine Ski Resort! We ski and/or board on Mondays, beginning January 7. Family members, ages 8 to 18 are welcome to join.

Sign-ups start on October 1. To receive your pass before Christmas Break and avoid late fees, you must sign up and pay by November 19. The cost of a pass is $203.05. The final deadline to sign up and pay is December 19. Bus transportation is available from CVCA to Brandywine ($30/season due by December 19). All Ski Club and transportation details are available HERE. Or if you have questions, see Mrs. Gini Thompson at the Welcome Center where you can also pick up an information card.

CVCA Athlete Yard Signs

The CVCA Booster Club is pleased to provide CVCA yard signs for all CVCA sports. Completely customizable, they are a great way to show your school spirit and recognize the hard work of your Royal athlete. Orders may be placed HERE.
