Please Use Designated Drop-off Areas
If you are dropping your student(s) off after 7.15 a.m. in the morning, please use the Learning Commons, Chapel, or Middle School Entrance instead. It is very important that you not use the front circle as that area is reserved for buses.
#GivingTuesday at CVCA – November 27
BIG NEWS! Thanks to generous friends of CVCA, the first $50,000 given on #GivingTuesday will be matched dollar for dollar! Middle School C7 Day – November 20
On Tuesday, November 20 our middle school students will enjoy our first C7 Day. They will choose from 15 different unique educational adventures – one in the morning and a different one in the afternoon. Workshops will cover many topics from Creativity in Worship, an Escape Room, Dance and Choreography, The Basics of Sewing, and much much more. What is a C7 Day? The CVCA middle school program engages students through Christ-centered learning, challenging them to develop genuine Curiosity, strong Critical thinking, Collaboration skills, Creativity, effective Communication, and Gospel-focused Compassion. We collectively refer to these objectives as the C7 Experience and work toward them in our classrooms as well as on special C7 days scattered throughout the academic year.
Urban Vision Christmas Outreach – December 7
Student Leadership Council is excited to lead CVCA’s annual Christmas outreach to provide items for Urban Vision, an Akron community ministry founded by a CVCA graduate. Urban Vision seeks to prayerfully and relationally reach North Akron children and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To help with the Christmas Store, our students are asked to bring in a gift to donate towards this ministry. We encourage the students to use their own money to purchase these gifts. Gifts will be collected during Connections Groups on Friday, December 7. We will have extended time that morning for the students to bring all the gifts to the large gym.
Register Now for the 8th Grade Jterm Trip
Registration and payment for ArkticQuest, the 8th Grade Jterm, runs until December 12. You may register and pay HERE. This is a required retreat for all 8th graders, and registration using the link above is mandatory. The fee for the trip is $100, though the trip cost is actually more than double this fee. We are grateful to the generous donors who make up the difference, making this trip accessible to our 8th graders. Check with your student for handouts of the retreat schedule, packing list, and medical forms. These handouts will be posted in the “Announcements” of their Bible 8 Canvas class.
PSAT Scores for Grades 8-11
Students in grades 8-11 and their parents need to set up an account at www.collegeboard.org to see the student’s score report. Online test scores will be available on December 10. If you have questions, please email Maureen Plum in the Guidance Office or call 330-929-0575, ext. 310. The following informational videos are available to help you access and understand the PSAT scores: Understanding your PSAT Scores and How to Access Your PSAT scores
Service Hours Deadline – December 15
December 15 is the deadline for at least eight service hours to be validated at app.helperhelper.com for the fall semester Service Expectation, which is part of Bible class for all students. Several students still have not submitted or verified their eight hours. Please talk to your student(s) to see if they have submitted any hours that have not been validated. (Several parents have not validated them electronically.) There is a one-day delay between when students submit hours on the app and when you receive the request. Sixth and seventh graders will earn four hours on their group trips this semester, so they will need at least four additional hours. Please encourage your students to download the Helper Helper app onto their smart phone.
Annual Business Pitch Night – December 12
