Congratulations SOBE Teams!

Each year Veal Youth Entrepreneurship Forum out of Case Western Reserve University has an entrepreneurial competition  for high school innovators called the thinkBIG! Competition.  This year, our SOBE seniors joined 184 teams across Ohio in submitting our business pitches for consideration.  Two CVCA submissions moved on to become part of the finals. What an incredible honor and exciting opportunity to show Christ at this wonderful event!

If you see Team Servare (Kaitlyn Beebe, Ray Benson, Jong Kim, Walter Miller, Regan Nickol, or Tyler Thomas) be sure to congratulate them as they took home the Veale thinkBIG! Competition Championship Cup and $5,000 in last week’s competition!

Congratulations are due for the Simply Flow team (Jayla Gulley, Angie Gunawardana, Desia Hamm, Imani Long, or Janiyah Spears) as well.  In addition to being a finalist and taking home $1,000, one of the competition judges has offered to help them make their business a reality!

This HUGE accomplishment opens up many new opportunities for these students. In addition, because of these incredible performances, SOBE is now a Veale Innovation School of Business, opening up many future opportunities for our students.

Join Us for CVCA’s 50th Anniversary Weekend

Though the Royal Evening is sold out, there’s still opportunities to celebrate on Friday March 16th!

PRAYER LUNCH – Friday, March 16, 12:00-1:00 pm

CVCA was founded by men and women who through much prayer, fasting, faith, and dedication worked to establish a school based on Christian principles and excellent academic standards. It is more than appropriate that the CVCA community mark this special 50th anniversary by joining in prayer at a Prayer Lunch in the CVCA cafeteria. Please join us in lifting up to the Lord the CVCA Board, faculty and staff, alumni, and students as well as thanking the Lord for His faithfulness over the last 50 years. Tickets are $15 each. Reserve your seat HERE by March 9.

CVCA OPEN HOUSE – Friday, March 16, 3:00–6:00 pm

Take a stroll down memory lane in the CVCA hallways as you view the timeline of CVCA’s history, see the school’s latest updates, and look ahead and what is to come. All are welcome – no tickets necessary.

WORSHIP SERVICE – Friday, March 16, 6:00-7:00 pm

During this CVCA-style Chapel worship service, we will praise the Lord for His faithfulness to CVCA over the past 50 years. Worship will be led by L.T. Newland and Matt Fleagle, CVCA faculty. All are welcome – no tickets necessary.

SILENT AUCTION OPENING – Friday, March 16, 7:00-8:00 pm

After the worship service, enjoy a time of fellowship with hors d’oeuvres as the excitement for the Royal Evening begins. The Royal Evening Silent Auction opens for bidding at this time and will continue through Saturday night. All are welcome – no tickets necessary

School Security is Very Important to Us

The tragic school events that have taken place around the country over the last few weeks are a sad reminder of our fallen world. When things like this happen, we reflect on our own emergency procedures and seek to reassure our school family that the safety of our students and staff is incredibly important to us. During last week’s chapel we addressed the school shootings and how they affect us personally and corporately. Parents were also sent an email reviewing CVCA’s security measures and policies. Please take some time to discuss these issues with your son/daughter, and continue to join us in prayer for the families around the country affected by these tragedies.

2018 Study Abroad Program and Scholarship Opportunity

CVCA students in Spanish 2, 3, or 4 are invited to participate in the Study Abroad Program at the Doulos Discovery School (DDS), in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic for the 2018 fall semester. (Another scholarship competition will take place in the fall for the Spring 2019 Study Abroad program.) To encourage students from both schools to experience living and learning cross-culturally, CVCA and DDS offer a scholarship program. Two partial scholarships of $1,000 each are available to CVCA students who desire to increase their knowledge of Spanish and deepen their relationship with the Lord through their studies at Doulos. The scholarship application deadline is March 16, 2018. Learn more HERE.

2018-2019 Re-enrollment Deadline is April 6

It is important for each student to communicate their intent to re-enroll for the next school year by completing the re-enrollment process. This can be done on-line through ParentsWeb from any device with internet access.

Please complete the online process and submit the re-enrollment online packet by April 6, 2018. After April 6, the re-enrollment fee will increase by $100. It is also very important for families who need financial aid to re-enroll so they are eligible to also apply for Financial Aid. Our initial Financial Aid Deadline is also April 6, 2018.

Re-enrollment packets were sent to current families via email in January. If you did not receive your Re-enrollment email information or if you have questions, please contact Mindy Fullerton. If you plan to enroll a 6th grader for next school year, be sure to get your application in soon as space is limited.
