Invite a Family to our Community Open House – February 9

Please help us spread the word about CVCA! Invite friends, neighbors, and family members to our Community Open House on Friday, February 9, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Your invitation makes a real difference in introducing CVCA to new families. Open House attendees will receive FREE tickets to that evening’s varsity boys basketball game! All of the information is available HERE.

 

Middle School Boys Lacrosse Parent Meeting – February 7

7th and 8th grade boys – join the 2018 Middle School Lacrosse Team! The CVCA club program will start its 6th season this spring. A parent meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 7 at 3:15 p.m. in the CVCA cafeteria. Conditioning will begin February 17. If you are a fall or winter athlete, lacrosse is a fast-paced, challenging game and a great off-season conditioning program. Look for information and emails coming your way over the next several weeks, or contact Nancy DiBlasi or Greg Gilley.

 

Middle School Club Softball Tryouts – February 12

Middle School Club Softball Tryouts will be held Monday, February 12 at 3:15 p.m. in the small gym. Tryouts will run to 4:45 p.m. with a parent Q&A held directly after. This is a MANDATORY practice. No other tryouts will be held. If participation is less than 11 players, the team will not participate during the 2018 Spring Season.

Pi Day is coming soon. Order your Pi Day T-shirt for only $10 from one of the CVCA math teachers by Wednesday, February 14CVCA families, friends, and alumni can get in on the Pi Day action. Simply e-mail amucha@cvcaroyals.org with your order and sizes, and then pay when you pick up your order.

 

Students Perform Well at Solo and Ensemble Competition

Congratulations to the following students who received Superior “I” Ratings in the Ohio Music Educator’s Solo and Ensemble Competition on Saturday January 27 at Firestone High School: Becca Bailey, Eve Cardello, Jake French, Ethan Hunter, Myrrha Louscher, Moyin Majekodunmi, Maggie O’Keefe, Olivia Ottman, Emma Petno, Daniel Pope, Peter Perdue, Jackson Slater, Jonathan Sommer, Joel Sparr, Catie Stanley, Cole Sullivan, and Emily Testa.

Well done to our other participants who also represented CVCA at the competition: Juliana Bailey, Victoria Dickson, Justin Folger, Mikaela Fridline, Lizzy Gavin, Emily Haymaker, Tressa Hindenlang, Garret Hursh, Will Loxley, Walter Miller, Mikayla Moreen, Devin Nichols, Jesse Oyster, Daniel Parker, Luke Rickey, and Ethan Smith.

Spring Sports to Start Soon

Spring sports are right around the corner. An email containing all team start-up details was recently sent to you from the Athletic Office. Please check your email for this important information.

Before an athlete can participate in any sport, they must obtain their Royal Card. Details are available HERE.

All athletes and at least one of their parents/guardians must attend the mandatory Parent/Athlete Meeting on February 26 for baseball, softball, and lacrosse or March 12 for tennis, and track & field.

The first day of official high school practices is February 19 for baseball, softball, and lacrosse. Track & field and tennis begin on March 5. The first day of official middle school practices is February 22 for boys lacrosse and March 5 for track and field. Check cvcaroyals.org for start times.

High School Girls Retreat – March 2 and 3

All high school girls are invited to a relaxing and fun weekend at the Red Maple Inn in beautiful Burton, Ohio on Friday and Saturday, March 2-3. This annual retreat is a great way to grow friendships and make new friends with other CVCA girls. Tickets are only $75 each and may be purchased HERE. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Hoffman.

 

Re-enrollment for the 2018-2019 School Year

Re-enrollment packets were recently sent to current families via email. The re-enrollment process is done on-line, so please look for this important information. If you did not receive your Re-enrollment email information or if you have questions, please contact Mindy Fullerton. We are excited to see that over 50 NEW students have already begun the enrollment process.  If you plan to enroll a 6th grader for next school year, be sure to get your application in soon as space is limited.

50th Weekend Celebration – March 16 and 17

Please join us on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17 for a weekend of celebrating where God has brought CVCA over the past fifty years and looking ahead to the future.

Enjoy a Prayer Lunch, Open House, Worship Service, and the 19th Annual Royal Evening…Celebrating 50 Years.

SATURDAY, MARCH 17 – ROYAL EVENING:

Please join us for the 19th Annual Royal Evening…Celebrating 50 Years, an elegant evening of making a tangible and eternal impact in students’ lives by raising funds for student financial aid. Enjoy a plated dinner served by CVCA students, visit with new and old friends, and bid on a wide variety of live and silent auction items. Formal attire is suggested.

5:00 p.m. | Silent Auction opens and hors d’oeuvres served

7:00 p.m. | Dinner and Live Auction begins

There are many ways to get involved with the Royal Evening. Consider becoming a sponsor, volunteer, or donate an auction item. Your help is vital! More information on how you can participate is available HERE.

ACT and SAT Classes Offered at CVCA

Taking the ACT and/or SAT this semester? Prepare for these important tests by taking a Prep Class at CVCA! SAT classes will be held at CVCA in February. For $155, students receive The Official SAT Study Guide, take a practice exam, and learn testing strategies and techniques. The February dates are (students attend all 3 sessions) Saturdays, February 17, 24, and March, 8:00 a.m. to noon. Please register using THIS FORM. Endowed Scholarship Applications

The endowed scholarship application should be filled out by the STUDENT and then reviewed by the parent prior to submission. Please note that the student must be signed into their CVCA email (Google account) to access the application.
