Prospective Parent Meeting – February 26 and 28
Do you know someone interested in attending CVCA? Invite them to one of the upcoming Middle and High School Prospective Parent Meetings. Families will learn about our programs and curriculum, take a campus tour, get their questions answered, and hear from our administration. Two meeting times are available: Tuesday, February 26, 9:00-10:30 a.m. (space is limited) and Thursday, February 28, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Royal Evening Tickets on Sale
Tickets to the March 16 Royal Evening are available online at cvcaroyals.org/royal-evening. Everyone in the CVCA community is invited and encouraged to attend this fun night of giving to the Lord’s ministry at CVCA.
Course Scheduling for 2019-2020
Last week students were given the 2019-2020 High School Academic Catalog. This catalog contains important information that will help you make decisions about the courses available for the upcoming year and will have an impact on your student’s future course of study. Please review the Academic Catalog as a family before the start of scheduling.
The Guidance Office will meet with students during their Bible classes between February 11 and February 22 to obtain initial course requests. Students will have the opportunity to confirm their individual requests to Spring Break. Final schedules will be ready in August before the start of the new school year.
Year-End Reminders for Seniors
Seniors: While it may feel as though you have a significant amount of time left at CVCA, the days are quickly coming to an end. Senior trip and commencement will be here before we know it. Therefore, as you plan for your final semester, please review this Senior Reminders letter which includes several pertinent dates for your calendar and information on graduation tickets.

CVCA Robotics to Compete at Regional Championship
Royal Technic, the CVCA Robotics Team, will compete at the Regional Championship at Grove City College on March 1-2. The team constructed a robot based on the concept of removing plastic waste from our oceans and lakes. The team will compete in a robot competition, give a marketing presentation, display a team exhibit, submit an engineering notebook, document programming in a video and be judged on their spirit and sportsmanship.
Senior Shakespeare Showdown
On the evening of Thursday, January 31st, CVCA held its seventh Shakespeare Showdown, a Shakespearean monologue competition in which each participant performs a speech from one of Shakespeare’s plays. Judges select the winner, who is then eligible to represent the school in the regional level of the National Shakespeare Competition. Congratulations to this year’s winner, senior Alyssa Sharp, for her comic portrayal of the infatuated shepherdess Phoebe, and to the runner-up, senior Annie Bockoven, for her intense portrayal of the vengeful father Titus Andronicus.
Middle School Girls Softball Meeting – February 14
Middle school girls interested in playing softball should attend an informational meeting on Thursday, February 14 during their lunch periods in the gym lobby (near the trophy case). The middle school girls softball club is open to all girls in grades 6, 7, and 8, regardless of experience. This meeting will determine the feasibility of having a team for the 2019 season.
Junior Royals Basketball Night – February 15
Junior Royals members are invited to the CVCA men’s varsity basketball game on Friday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. Every Junior Royals will get in FREE, receive a snack voucher and Snoopy plush toy, and participate in halftime activities. They will also have the chance to win a signed CVCA team basketball and an ice cream party for ten at Sweet Frog! More information is available on the Junior Royals webpage. Questions? Spring Sports Meetings and Start Dates
Preseason Parent Meetings are required by the OHSAA. All middle school and high school winter athletes and at least one parent/guardian are required to attend. After a presentation by the CVCA Athletic Department, teams will meet individually to review sport-specific information.

Baseball Youth Clinic – March 2
The CVCA Athletic Department will offer a Baseball Clinic on Saturday, March 2 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for baseball players ages 6-14. The clinic will cover the fundamentals of baseball in an atmosphere that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and joy for the game. Skill instruction will include: infield play, hitting, pitching, catching, base running, and outfield play. Cost of the clinic is $25. More information is available on the CVCA Athletics website.
