First Semester Exams – December 19, 20, 21

  • Please make arrangements for your student(s) to leave after exams. Supervision will be available for students who need to stay beyond the end of the school day at 11:45.
  • There will be no early exams (see pg. 37, Student/Parent Handbook, Early Exams).
  • NO lunch items will be available.
  • A limited breakfast menu will be available before exams.
  • Students may bring a snack to eat during their break.
  • Spirit Wear may be worn December 19-21.



The first exam begins promptly at 8:15 a.m. each day and the second exam begins promptly at 10:15 a.m..

Tuesday, December 19:  8:00-9:45 a.m. – Exam A (English)  |  10:00-11: 45 a.m. – Exam B (Science)

Wednesday, December 20:  8:00-9:45 a.m. – Exam C (Math)  |  10:00-11: 45 a.m. – Exam D (World Language)

Thursday, December 21:  8:00-9:45 a.m. – Exam E (Social Studies)  |  10:00-11: 45 a.m. – Exam F (Bible)



Tuesday, December 19:  English and Science Exams

Wednesday, December 20:  NO SCHOOL (unless taking a high school World Language exam and/or a high school Math exam)

Thursday, December 21:  NO SCHOOL

Jterm 2018

Local Jterm classes begin on Monday, January 8, 2018, and continue through Friday, January 12, 2018.  Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and are dismissed at 2:50 p.m. each day. CVCA remains a closed campus during Jterm. Students may not leave campus during the day to buy lunch or for other purposes. CVCA spirit wear (or standard CVCA uniform) is required during Jterm. Some Jterm experiences may require heavier winter dress for outside activities.  Please pay attention to any direction you receive from your Jterm leaders so you are properly dressed for the planned activities.

PSAT Scores Available

Parents and students in grades 8-11: the PSAT scores are now available on your College Board account. If you do not yet have an account, please create one at to see your scores. This account is used for the SAT, AP, PSAT/NMSQT, CLEP, and BigFuture activities and will be used throughout high school, so be sure to provide complete and accurate information.

To review your most recent PSAT scores: Go to OR see an email that was sent to students on December 11 from PSAT. Sign in if you already have a College Board student account. Click on “PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 Scores.” Any College Board test you have taken will be listed. From this screen you can also register for the SAT and practice for the SAT through Khan Academy (free). A short video explaining your score report is available HERE.

Sign up for Ski Club before it’s too late!

The deadline to sign up for Ski Club has been extended to Friday December 29. Ski Club starts on January 8. If you will be gone for Jterm, you will start on the first Monday you are back. CVCA provides transportation to Brandywine, leaving from the Chapel doors every Monday at 3:00 p.m. Students must be picked up at Brandywine. Please not that there is Ski Club on ML King Day, Presidents Day, and on snow days, but there will be no bus. The bus fee is $30 (payable to CVCA) and should be turned in with a permission slip at the Welcome Center.


Leadership Conference for Juniors and Seniors

Join other top high school students from around the country for two unforgettable days dedicated to building your leadership skills at the CU LEADership Conference on Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 at Cedarville University. This is a great opportunity to receive some leadership training and visit a college campus. The conference is designed for high school juniors and seniors and Cedarville University students who serve or desire to serve in a leadership position. Through the exploration of a Biblical definition of leadership, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to implement positive change through effective stewardship, influence, and service.

19th Annual Royal Evening: Celebrating 50 Years

On Saturday, March 17, 2018 CVCA will host the school’s 19th Annual Royal Evening…Celebrating 50 years! This fun-filled gala includes a sit down dinner as well as silent and live auctions, entertainment, and fellowship. The Royal Evening is the largest annual fundraiser for CVCA. Last year’s event raised more than $160,000 for student financial aid.

Each year CVCA parents provide support to make the Royal Evening a success. There are many ways to get involved:
VOLUNTEER: Your help is vital! It takes many hands to coordinate an event of this size. Fill out a Volunteer Form to get involved.

DONATE: We welcome items, experiences, and services that will be auctioned that night. Take a look at our List of Suggestions and then get creative! To donate an item, please fill out an Item Donation Form.
