Royal Theatre 2018-19 Season Kick-Off Party – Today, August 20
This season’s kick-off will be held on Today, August 20 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. All potential actors, crew members, pit musicians, and parents are invited and encouraged to attend. This year’s show selections will be announced and important dates and information will be provided. If you have been thinking about taking the stage at CVCA, don’t miss this important meeting!
Handbook Signature Page Due – August 21
The 2018-2019 CVCA Student-Parent Handbook is available on ParentsWeb under “Resource Documents”. The signature page is due back to CVCA by Tuesday, August 21. Please note that a couple of changes have been made to the Handbook since it had been most recently posted. If you have questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Robotics Kick-off Meeting – August 21
The Robotics Team will kick off their 2018-2019 season on Tuesday, August 21 with an informational meeting at 4:00 p.m. in Room 122. Parents are welcome. Robotics Club training will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, August 27-30 and Saturday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. Robotics Team students work together to build a robot, create a team exhibit, write an engineering notebook, and create a marketing presentation to sell the robot to judges. Students will learn to brainstorm, design, build, and program a robot. Students in all grades are welcome to join the team. Questions? Please email Megan Oyster.
Parent Back-to-School Night – August 23
Back-to-School Night is a chance for parents to meet teachers as they walk their student(s)’ schedule. Teachers will inform parents about classes and how students can be successful. This is a great way for parents to partner with teachers as we seek to Educate and Cultivate Servants for Christ. Please bring a printed copy of your student(s)’ class schedule. Kids Closet and Athletic Boosters will be in the Cafeteria for clothing purchases. Back-to-School Night begins at 7:00 p.m.
Class Schedule Change Deadline – August 24
The last day to make changes to student schedules is Friday, August 24. Please note that schedules cannot be changed for personal preferences such as requesting a specific teacher or study hall period, or a lunch period change. Junior Royals Football Big Tent Event – August 24
The first Junior Royals event of the year will be on Friday, August 24, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Royals Stadium. Junior Royals members will enjoy carnival games, a Sweet Frog ice cream sundae bar, a free CVCA football or cheerleader bow for the first 150 Junior Royals, a Skyzone Pizza Party drawing, and more! CVCA’s Junior Royals Club is for students in grades 1-5. Members enjoy yearlong free sports passes, special events, and prizes. Find more information and join the Junior Royals Club HERE.

CVCA Parent Connection Coffees
Parent Connection Coffees are opportunities to meet fellow parents walking the CVCA journey with you. On the following Friday mornings, from 7:30 to 8:30, you are welcome to come to the Student Lounge and enjoy coffee and conversation with other CVCA parents:
• Friday, August 24 – Grade 6
• Friday, August 31 – Grades 7 and 8
• Friday, September 7 – Grades 11 and 12
Families of 6th graders are invited to Ignition Rewind on Thursday, September 6 at 6:45 p.m. We’ll enjoy ice cream in the Cafeteria first, then gather in the Chapel to hear student stories and memories of the trip, worship together and sing songs from our time at camp, and watch an Ignition highlight video. Please join us to see what our 6th graders experienced at Ignition!
JumpStart Rewind – September 11
The JumpStart Ice Cream Social and Rewind will take place on Tuesday, September 11 at 6:45 p.m. An ice cream social will be held first in the Cafeteria followed by JumpStart Rewind in the Chapel. This is a time for families of 7th graders to meet each other and hear details about their students’ experience at JumpStart 2018.
New Family Tailgate – September 14
Families new to CVCA are invited to a FREE cookout outside Royals stadium on Friday, September 14, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. before the varsity football game. Come meet fellow new families and CVCA staff. Game tickets are included! Bring the whole family! RSVP by September 5. Go Royals!
All student drivers are required to register their car in the Main Office. Permits are available for $70. Vehicle registrations forms are available HERE on the CVCA website.
Student Drop-off and Pick-up Reminders
Before 7:30 a.m.: All students should be dropped off at the main entrance in the front of the school. If a bus is there, please pull behind the bus.
Between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m.: Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 should be dropped off at the rear entrance. Students in grades 9 through 12 should be dropped off at the Chapel or Learning Commons.
During the school day (7:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.): All students should be dropped off at the main entrance.
From 2:50-3:05 p.m.: Students in grades 6 through 8 should be picked at the rear entrance. Students in grades 9 through 12 should be picked at the Chapel or Learning Commons entrances.
After 3:05 p.m.: All students should be picked up at the main entrance in the front of the school.
