CVCA students in Spanish 2 or 3 (as well as 11th grade Spanish 4 students) are invited to participate in the Study Abroad Program at the Doulos Discovery School (DDS) in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic for the 2020 spring semester. To encourage students from both schools to experience living and learning cross-culturally, CVCA and DDS offer a scholarship program. Two partial scholarships of $1,000 each are available to CVCA students who desire to increase their knowledge of Spanish and deepen their relationship with the Lord through their studies at Doulos. The scholarship application deadline is Friday, November 4, 2019. Learn more HERE>>.

Important Chromebook Care

Since our student Chromebooks are used daily, it is important to make sure they are charged and ready for each school day. Also, a Chromebook battery can permanently fail if it is drained completely, creating an inconvenience and costing the student $45 to replace. To prevent a battery failure, please make a habit of charging it before it reaches 5%.

Learn How to Earn College Credits While at CVCA – November 6

Are you interested in earning college credits while enrolled at CVCA? Students in grades 10-11 and their parents are invited to learn more at the Avenues toward College Credit at CVCA presentation on Wednesday, November 6, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons.

Earning college credits during high school allows you to enter college or university with advanced standing, often having already completed some collegiate general education requirements. In addition to the learning opportunities advanced coursework provides, earning college credits now can provide significant financial savings. Many early avenues to college credit are affordable or free compared to the cost of traditional college tuition. Qualified students who strategically plan ahead and take advantage of these opportunities may earn several college credits by the time they graduate from CVCA. These opportunities include: Advanced Placement (AP) exams, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, and dual credit opportunities – including some that may qualify for funding through Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program. While taking classes at a local university is also an option through the CCP program, it is not necessary for students to leave CVCA during the school day in order to participate and benefit from these programs. Come hear how qualified students can gain college experience and credit at low or no additional cost while participating fully in high school life at CVCA! Questions? Please contact Mr. Randy Tomich in the Guidance Office.
