Explore CVCA’s Schools of Distinction – November 15

CVCA’s Schools of Distinction are an elective program introducing students to career fields in one of five areas: Arts & Humanities (SOAH), Business & Entrepreneurship (SOBE), Engineering (SOE), Medical Professions (SOMP) and Ministry (SOM). More information and an application to each program can be found for all the Schools of Distinction on the CVCA website HERE. There is a $300 fee for participation in any of the Schools.

Students may apply to enter a School of Distinction in the fall of their sophomore year. This Friday, November 15, all sophomores are invited to attend an informational fair in the Learning Commons during Connections to meet the chair of each school, ask questions of upperclassmen in the programs, and learn more about the Schools as they consider applying. Students are not required to apply to a School of Distinction; it is an opportunity for students interested in the career cluster represented by each school. Applications will become available on Friday, November 15 HERE. The application deadline is Monday, November 25, 2019.

CVCA Christmas Outreach to Support Urban Vision

Student Leadership Council is excited to lead CVCA’s annual Christmas outreach to provide items for Urban Vision, an Akron community ministry founded by a CVCA graduate. Urban Vision seeks to prayerfully and relationally reach North Akron children and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

To help with the Christmas Store, our students are asked to bring a gift to donate towards this ministry. We encourage the students to use their own money to purchase these gifts. Walmart and similar discount stores will have all of the items assigned. Gifts are being collected through Connections Groups and are due on Friday, December 6.

Give your first Christmas Gift to CVCA on #GivingTuesday

As we look forward to #GivingTuesday we are excited about the community aspect of the day. When each parent, alum, grandparent, and friend of CVCA gives on that day, TOGETHER we will give the CVCA experience to more students through financial assistance. It’s not how much you give – it’s that you do give. Consider giving your first Christmas gift to CVCA on December 3 by giving online at cvcaroyals.org/giving or by sending a check to CVCA. For more information on #GivingTuesday at CVCA, please contact Jennifer Meybaum at [email protected].
