LaunchPoint 8th Grade Event

Held on campus, LaunchPoint is a half-day, team-building fun day when returning and new 8th graders combine to get to know each other and connect as they begin the new school year. Working in their Connections group teams, students accomplish various “challenges” requiring them to work together. Plenty of social time to catch up with friends is included. We also spend devotional time focused on the upcoming school year.

Appearance Standards

Uniform polo shirts, jackets, and sweaters may be purchased through Kids Kloset Uniforms (907B Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223, 330-929-1810). FAQs

Do I need to be proficient in typing heading into CVCA?

• Since CVCA students use their Chromebooks in nearly all classes, new students are strongly encouraged to acquire QWERTY keyboarding proficiency prior to their first semester. There are numerous online resources to gain typing skills (e.g. www.typing.com).
• A typing proficiency test will be given at the beginning of the school year to all new middle school students. Those unable to demonstrate typing proficiency will be required to take a typing class two times per week.
• New high school students should contact their guidance counselor about either demonstrating keyboarding proficiency or taking the Computer Concepts course, preferably during their first semester.
• Demonstration of keyboarding proficiency is a CVCA graduation requirement that may be met during middle school or high school.
