CVCA’s Graphic Art program offers a 2-year design course, photography, and yearbook opportunities for high school students.
- Graphic Design: students learn the principles of design and explore typography and color while incorporating hands-on computer software technology. The history of graphic design and how it has evolved provides insight into the industry and inspiration for projects.
- Photo Illustration: Students learn the fundamentals of photography and composition utilizing SLR digital cameras, and incorporate Photoshop techniques to illustrate conceptual themes through their work.
- Yearbook/Journalism: Students learn the rules of professional journalism, photograph student events, and become familiar with software used in publishing. Students also learn the necessity of meeting deadlines and maintaining a budget while planning and producing the CVCA yearbook.
- Portfolio Show: All CVCA Graphic Art students have the opportunity to exhibit their work in our annual Spring Portfolio Show which draws crowds from both CVCA and the local community.
