CVCA’s Digital Classroom Community
During this time of disruption, CVCA ONLINE is designed to temporarily continue student education as CVCA strives to Educate and Cultivate Servants for Christ. Our teachers are working harder than ever to reach their learning goals in an online environment and provide a high-quality education. We view this as a wonderful opportunity as we are in a unique position to innovate and continue embracing 21st-Century learning skills that students need to master in an ever-changing world.
Online Learning Updates
On Monday, April 20, Governor Mike DeWine mandated that all Ohio school campuses remain closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 academic school year. CVCA ONLINE digital learning will continue for the rest of this semester. We know there are many questions about the weeks to come. An email answering those questions will be sent soon.

CVCA ONLINE FAQs
Yes, we will be tracking attendance. Beginning April 16, 2020, in order to relieve deadline pressure associated with digital assignments for attendance purposes, attendance going forward will only be recorded on days when a class has the opportunity for a synchronous class period. Attendance may be recorded synchronously or asynchronously at the teacher’s discretion. If your student is going to be absent during this time of online learning, please call the school office and leave a message at 330-929-0575, ext. 218.
If you are having technical difficulties with your Chromebook please email the CVCA Tech Office at [email protected].
Please contact [email protected] and our team can set up a time for you to retrieve your necessary class materials. Currently, the CVCA campus is closed to students and outside guests.
Students are not expected to dress in CVCA uniforms. However, students are expected to dress modestly for synchronous online learning sessions. As a reminder, the PRINCIPLE of MODESTY is always in effect for all CVCA events on or off-campus. Anything which draws attention to oneself serves more to distract from this principle rather than to promote it. Additionally, we advise students to be out of their beds, appropriately dressed, and prepared to engage in the class.
Based on our unexpected transition to CVCA Online, the administration has decided it would not be reasonable to expect students to take a semester exam worth 20% of their grade for Spring 2020. Therefore, spring semester CVCA exams will be canceled for all grade levels, and second semester grades will be calculated as an average of third and fourth quarter grades.
Students in AP courses are still required to take their AP exam in order to receive AP credit and GPA weight second semester (as described in the Student/Parent Handbook). AP exams will be offered at home on student Chromebooks at the times listed in the below calendar (as determined by the College Board).
Students in CL courses taught on a college syllabus should check with their instructor as most CL courses will still require a final exam, paper, or project.
The service requirement associated with Bible classes is being waived for second semester since most of the venues where students serve are not open to volunteers during this time.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
