Academic Support Staff

The Position:

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is seeking an Academic Support Staff Instructor. This position will plan and work to maximize the academic success of 6th-12th grade students who need additional support outside of the classroom.

This is a full-time or part-time position that reports to the Director of Academic Support. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Academic Support and Intervention Specialist to collaborate with various parties to execute individualized plans based on various factors such as age, gender and cultural background 
  • Meet individually or in small groups to provide specific, academic support services to students with identified learning needs and monitor individual student progress during the school year 
  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus that always aligns with the CVCA missional boundaries
  • Manage student behavior and administer biblical discipline in accordance with outlined guidelines 
  • Attend conferences and workshops in order to further advance professional development

  • Proficient in Google Suite (e.g. calendar, docs, forms, sheets, etc), Microsoft Office, e-mail, internet, and other relevant software; ability to operate standard office equipment

What you need:

  • Ohio teaching licensure
  • ACSI All Levels Special Education teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment
  • Bachelor degree in education (educational intervention or related field – preferred)
  • Three-Five years of experience teaching grades 6-12 at various levels (preferred)
  • Ability and interest in involvement in co-curriculars (related experience preferred)
  • Experience in middle/high school student support services, especially academic
