What a weekend to remember!
Reflecting back on the incredible weekend that kickoff our year-long celebration, I was completely floored by the overwhelming barrage of reminders of God’s faithfulness to CVCA over 50 years as He has chosen to use this place to impact lives and set trajectories for entire generations. I could not help but think of 2 Corinthians 3:1-5, when Paul writes:
Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.
Our almost 4,500 alums reach every part of the globe, in almost every vocation, in thousands of churches. It’s not a stretch to think that God has used His people at CVCA (teachers, students, families) to reach millions over the last 50 years. And while I am very biased about what happens here at CVCA, this celebration is not pointing to us…but to Him that has used us to make a Kingdom Impact in our world.
To Him be the Praise as we are “our letter, written on human hearts, known and read by everyone”. CVCA is not the building or the time spent here, it’s wherever we go as alums carrying the banner of Christ into our spheres of influence. Not to us, but to Him be the Glory.
