Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy can become a transforming environment which engages a student at every point of interest, following the Apostle Paul’s mandate in Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)– “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
This admonition is not only for the students, but for the responsible adults in their lives — it is our act of worship to train and empower young people.
Then they, in turn, will become God’s tools, which He will use to transform their families, their communities, and their world. Their faith will influence their family interactions, their approach to schoolwork and service, and the choices they make with respect to co-curricular pursuits and finally careers. In this way, we are establishing a continuing legacy of building godly character, integrity, and servant leadership in the lives of our students.
Whether those interests lie in Fine Arts, in the chemistry lab, on the athletic field, the debate team, and all points between ... wherever the heart is, we’ll be there to engage, inform, transform, teach, and transform.
CVCA requires new tools — in programs, people, and the physical plant facilities — so we may produce tools, as well: the young people who will be the Lord’s tools of transformation for this generation and generations to come.
Why new tools? Why now? The world has changed, and the Academy must advance with it. The school remains powerfully effective today because of the commitment of our teachers and staff, the involvement of our students’ parents, and the blessings of God on our efforts. But, we could dramatically transform more young lives with better tools.
