CVCA Student and Families Serve in Mozambique with The Chapel
(written by Sarah Rasnick)
In September, eight members of The Chapel went to Mozambique, Africa. We visited the villages of Chaimite and Koca-misava.
Dr. Charles Davis, Mrs. Barb Davis, and Mrs. Janelle Rasnick worked on an eye clinic for the people. During the course of the week, they gave away over 700 pairs of glasses. Pastor Jim Mitchell led the pastors in the village in a walk through the Bible, and Mrs. Brenda Mitchell led the women through the Bible. In both villages, the men and women grew in their faith and understanding of the Bible.
Mr. Bob Rininger trained about 10 men in carpentry and despite the language barrier, they grew together as brothers in Christ. I worked with my dad, Mr. John Rasnick, and we taught the children in the villages the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. We did an invitation to accept Christ, and almost all of the children raised their hands to say they wanted Christ in their lives. During the week, we had the privilege of talking to over 2,000 children. On Saturday, Mrs. Mitchell and my mom taught the women to make jam, and the women were very excited to learn.
In Christ,
Sarah Rasnick
