FROM THE DIRECTORS - Mr. Weber and Mr. IsaacsHi everyone! It’s been a while since the last newsletter and with some events coming up in the near future, an update seems overdue. Here are some of the happenings lately… - We recently started a jazz band which has been practicing after school every Monday and Friday. At this time, the first official concert for the group will be as part of the spring band concert. - Friday, March 5 we will be performing at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Large Group Adjudicated Event. This is a Cuyahoga Falls High School. Please be on the lookout at home for the information and permission slip for this event. See chaparone info below if you are interested in helping. - Friday, March 26 the band will be playing two concerts during the day, one at a school and the other at a retirement community, then we will be enjoying ourselves at Kalahari Indoor Waterpark. See chaparone info below if you are interested in helping with this event. Again, look for information on this and a permission slip soon. I will be stapled with the OMEA information. - Practices for the musical Annie are in full swing. A few band students are playing in the pit this year.

Crystal Vig In a nutshell, the President oversees all committees and communicates with the directors, Secretary handles all communication, Fundraising Chair coordinates fundraising opportunities, Meal Chair coordinates all band related meals and band camp snacks, Chaperone Chair secures chaperones for all band activities, Uniform Chair makes sure all band members have uniforms and accessories, Football Game Chair coordinates game night equipment, donuts/cider, and water. There will be opportunities for all band parents to serve on these committees, and parents will be strongly encouraged to volunteer at least 2 hours per student per year. Sign-ups will be available at the August parent meeting. |
