Lady Royals Tennis Excels This Season

The Lady Royals' varsity tennis team boasted a record of 14-5 this year, tying them for first place in the NEOTA league. Senior Alex Patterson and junior Nikki Micale served as team captains and did a great job leading the team. Positions played included Annie Sandberg in first singles, sophomore Erika Lester in second singles, junior Nikki Micale in third singles, junior Kayli Williamson and sophomore Asia Harris in first doubles, and seniors Rachel Netzley and Alex Patterson in second doubles. Sophomore Morgan Holmes was a great addition to varsity this year. Throughout the year, the Royals emphasized team effort and playing for Christ. The team also had a lot of fun singing and chatting in the van, eating at every Chipotle in Northeast Ohio, and generally enjoying each other's company as they worked to improve their games and played some good tennis.
As 18 girls played tennis this year, the junior varsity team also did a wonderful job. Brittany Williams, former tennis player at CVCA, served as JV coach this year. She has joined the teaching staff at CVCA as a math teacher and is a welcome addition to our coaching staff.
My best in Christ,
