Girls’ Tennis Team Grows in Skill and Teamwork

The 2007 CVCA women's tennis team, led by sophomore Annie Sandberg, featured the efforts of several skilled players. Rachel Netzley played second, and Alex Patterson played third singles. The team’s Sectional lineup included junior Rachel Ferguson and senior Sarah Lewan, who nearly qualified for Districts. Juniors Shelby Pykare and Alyx Brott played second doubles. Freshman Nikki Micale lettered this year, also. Despite the variety in lineups due to injury and illness, the girls always fought hard and remained competitive. Throughout the season, the seventeen girls on the team grew and learned different aspects of the game. Lois Bradford coached the varsity team while Gina Pratt, assisted by Norma Hadley, coached the junior varsity team. The girls persevered through a building year and look forward to the 2008 season!
