The 2008 football season will be cherished for a long time. The Royals finished the regular season with a 9-1 record and won the school’s first ever PAC Championship. The team made the Division IV State Playoffs for the fourth time in a row and lost a hard-fought battle against Cardinal Mooney 6-14. These teammates distinguished themselves by playing as brothers with 44 hearts beating as ONE!
Several members of the team received post-season honors: John Pettigrew–First Team All-PAC, PAC-7 Player of the Year, First Team All-District, District Offensive Player of the Year, and Fox 8 Player of the Year; Derek Bosshard–PAC Special Teams Player of the Year; Stephen Hudson and Alex Utley – First Team PAC-7 and First Team All-District; Andrew Peterson, Zach Butler, and Andy Hoffman– First Team All-PAC; Cole Dittrich and Xavier Douglas–Honorable Mention All-PAC.
The seniors’ servant leadership throughout this season created a legacy that will be the standard for years to come: They are Strong and Courageous Men for God’s Kingdom.
