CVCA alum, Art McMahon '95, is currently working at Quisqueya Christian School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The tragedy of the January 12th earthquake in Haiti has left many of us stunned; the pictures are truly overwhelming. Some have asked, what can we do?
WE CAN HELP!!
The following letter was sent to current CVCA families on Friday, January 22, 2010.
"Our hearts ache for the families who have been devasted by this tragedy. In recent communication with our contacts in Haiti the word was, Awful, awful, awful. No sanitation, no clean water, no food, no medicine. Everyone wants to leave the city. Port-au-Prince is no more.
Some have been asking, what can we do? On January 27 a team of medical doctors (including Dr. Mark Meyer and Jason Kolb '92), who have close ties to CVCA, will be traveling to Haiti and plan to set up a clinic in Port-au-Prince where Art McMahon '95 is currently working. For those who would like to be involved, CVCA will be collecting money from January 25 - 27 to help in this medical relief effort. Please make checks payable to CVCA (memo-Haiti Fund). Please continue to be in prayer for the people of Haiti."
Peace,
