Beginning with the graduating class of 2008, students may receive a diploma with honors by meeting CVCA graduation requirements and additional requirements established by the Ohio State Board of Education. Requirements in addition to or different from CVCA requirements include the following:
- Three units of one foreign language or two units of two different foreign languages
- One unit of fine arts
- One unit of technology and two additional academic or fine arts units or one-half unit of technology and an additional two and one-half units of academics of fine arts
- Overall 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 unweighted scale through the first semester of the senior year
- Composite score of 27 on the ACT or a 1210 combined math and reading score on the SAT
