Junior High J-term Learning and Retreat
Students DO NOT need to register for the Junior High Experience; they are automatically enrolled.
Academics
Students will be assigned to learning teams for their days on campus. They’ll study under the direction of junior and senior high faculty and guest leaders. There will be academic subjects and physical activities. Students should meet SAS. Tennis shoes are required. Young ladies should wear shorts under skirts. They will need a notebook and pencil or pen.
Winter Blast!
Winter Blast is the Grade 7 overnight retreat. Throughout our time together, we will be using sports fields for group games and such, but the more important part of the retreat will occur during our daily chapels. Students will also have the opportunity to share with one another during Connections time. Students will be mentored by CVCA faculty and staff, along with CVCA alumni college students who are serving as chaperones. As you can see, it is to be a very jam-packed three days, but we are excited to spend it having fun and learning more about God and each other through messages and our worship times.
Created for Freedom
Created for Freedom is an expedition for 8 graders during the 2nd week of J-term through the northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area. Students will retrace the historic steps of freedom that were part of the Underground Railroad and consider the intelligent steps of Creation in relation to a biblical worldview of science. Area attractions include the National Freedom Center, the Creation Museum, the Newport Aquarium, the Freedom Trail, and Co-Co Key Indoor Water Resort. Accommodations are provided at a nearby Christian retreat center with an atmosphere of fun fellowship and inspirational worship. Chaperones include several CVCA faculty members along with college-age alumni.
